David Ide, CFA

Director of Investments

After nearly 30 years in the banking world, David decided it was time to retire and fill his days with good coffee, long dog walks, and plenty of rest and relaxation. It didn’t take him long to discover that one can only drink so much coffee in a day, and thus his new “second-half” career in hospitality was kickstarted – and boy are we glad. David’s job as Director of Investments means he’s responsible for managing all company-held financial assets. And as a self-proclaimed math-lover, his analytical mind and years of senior-level financial experience make him the perfect fit for the role. David has worked for world-class organizations including Edward Jones & Co., Boatmen’s National Bank, LaSalle National Bank, Cole Taylor Bank and USAmeriBank. At USAmeriBank he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Economist and Chief Investment Officer. David credits his success to his mom and dad, neither of whom knew much about business but were really nice people who influenced him on all of the stuff that really matters in life, like being a dependable person and giving back to those in need. He serves as a member for the National Association for Business Economics and Treasurer for the Tampa Hillsborough Homeless Initiative. His ideal day-off involves sitting in a coffee shop, drinking coffee (dark roast with a steamed soy topper) while reading the Wall Street Journal, and spending time surrounded by his wife and their three grown sons.
