Bruce knew that he had found his forever home among the hospitality world’s finest when he joined the McKibbon family in 1996. Before then he had been an Operations Manager with Marriott International from 1989 to 1996. His gradual rise from General Manager of a single property to Executive Vice President and now President of the company’s hotel management division is the perfect embodiment of the McKibbon spirit. Hard work, positive energy, and forward-thinking are all things that have helped make Bruce successful; that and his running shoes and fishing rod — his go-to tools when he needs to recharge. The combination of strategy, relationship building and integrating a new brand into the McKibbon portfolio is the type of work Bruce lives for. He also lives for his wife, Sunni, a designer whose creativity and free spirit continues to inspire him on a daily basis. No day is complete without ending it on the back deck alongside her. Bruce has been recognized with the 2000 Marriott Midwest Leadership Award and the 1998 Marriott Opening General Manager of the Year Award. He serves as the President of the Aloft Franchise Advisory Council and is a member of both the Hilton Worldwide Distribution Council and the Homewood Suites Operations Council. Whether Bruce is developing new business for McKibbon, beating his best running time, or is out in the community helping inspire today’s youth, his mission is simple: make it better.
