For Scott McDowell, even the smallest details are a big deal. His appreciation for attention to detail makes him perfectly suited, as Regional VP of Operations. Scott started as a front desk clerk and worked his way up the ranks through both individual properties and corporate operations. His time on the front lines has helped him keep one foot in the day-to-day operations challenges, while at the same time helping to grow the company as a whole. Scott’s credentials include being Food ServSafe Certified, TIPS On Premise Alcohol Safety Certified and AHLA Certified Hotel Administrator. He was also given the 2015 JHM Hotels Community Spirit Award. His ideal day starts with a cup of coffee (“Stay awake, stay employed” is his mantra), and includes great customer service, genuine smiles, and resourceful collaboration. He also takes pride in developing not only his career, but helping coworkers and employees rise through the ranks. When he needs a break from the daily grind, Scott spends time on the golf course with his son, brother, father and friends. He is truly in love with the Carolinas, and is an active member of VisitGreenvilleSC, where he’s been a longtime board member.
