When he was a student at UCF, Michael remembers that after culinary class, the Executive Chef and Professor didn’t just leave once class was dismissed. Instead, he’d join them in the dish room, roll up his sleeves, and wash flatware and dry silverware alongside his students.
That leadership mentality has stayed with him throughout his 20-plus years as a hospitality professional. People don’t leave jobs, Michael believes. They leave bosses. That’s why no matter his role, he’s always strived to create a culture of engagement and fun. That culture attracted him to McKibbon.
As Director of Business Intelligence and Technology, Michael’s job is to dive deep into our company’s systems and the marketplace, collect data, and help us translate it so we can see and understand what opportunities exist within our business and in the marketplace. Give him enough coffee and there’s no challenge Michael won’t welcome with open arms.
On weekends, he unplugs and seeks out simplicity in nature. Fishing. Boating. Spending time with family.
