David’s career didn’t begin in the hospitality industry — but he’s glad all roads led him to McKibbon over a quarter of a century ago. After earning his Bachelor of Business Arts degree from the University of Georgia in 1981, he took on a variety of roles that were all anchored in one thing: serving the Georgia community. He managed cash for Georgia Power’s Treasury Department, served as General Manager of Interstate Transport, and was Vice President of Finance for Transportation Management Services, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. Today, his talents are focused on advising McKibbon’s team of hospitality development and finance experts towards expanding McKibbon’s world-class brands with a more sustainable, innovative future, while continuing to deliver superior financial returns to McKibbon’s investors. While David is a “finance guy” at heart, he’s also an adventurous creative who enjoys golf, duck hunting, a great cup of coffee and traveling with his wife, Shannon, and their extended family. He's passionate about supporting his hometown of Gainesville, Georgia, where he serves on the Northeast Georgia Health System’s Board of Directors and contributes to programs for at-risk youth such as Eagle Ranch, Young Life, and Sacred Roots Farm.
