WHEN AND WHERE:  Wednesday, February 24 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Metropolitan Ministries’ Head Start Program, 2301 North Tampa Street, 33602.  The team will read first to a group of approximately 20 Head Start students, and then to a group of 30 elementary school students enrolled in the Ministries’ after school program.

WHY:  As a responsible corporate partner, McKibbon Hotel Management supports the communities that we serve.  For several years, we have supported Metropolitan Ministries through a variety of service efforts, including participation in the annual Bridge Builders event, providing volunteers and collecting canned goods during the Christmas season for the Holiday Tent, collection of school supplies for Backpacks of Hope, and offering additional support and contributions throughout the year.  Our company chairman, John McKibbon, III, currently serves on Metropolitan Ministries’ Board of Directors, and encourages the hotel teams of the 10 properties that we manage in the Tampaarea to support the organization through community service activities like today’s reading event.  We would like to share the joy that volunteering brings to our hotel team members, and encourage other Bay area companies to consider the benefits of community service.
